Progressively acquired by the city council, the entire Aurence valley has been developed and punctuated with animal enclosures, sports fields, vast grasslands open to the public and charmingly picturesque sites. The Uzurat lake and the parks of Moulin-Pinard, Aurence and Mas-Jambost follow on from one another forming a nature reserve stretching over 200 hectares. In fine weather, the Rose garden displays more than 5,200 rose bushes representing 200 different varieties.

A small tributary stream of the Vienne, the Auzette passes through the urban districts on the left bank: this small "green corridor" stretches over 1.5 kilometres to the facilities of Bas-Fargeas, the tennis courts, the John Lennon cultural centre, etc, and the extensive sports complex of Saint-Lazare.
